Nancy Lena Fosmire Solomons, 1938-2024.
Nancy Lena Fosmire Solomons, 86, died on the afternoon of The Lord’s Day, Sunday,
November 3, 2024, at Memorial Health University Hospital after a lingering illness.
Nancy was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 3, 1938, to Clyde Upson Fosmire,
Sr. and Annie Lee (Johnston) Fosmire.
Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 37 years, Moses Joseph (Joe) Solomons Jr., her youngest son, Clyde David Solomons, brothers Dr. William (Bill) Fosmire and Clyde U. Fosmire Jr., and two sisters, Francis McGowan, and Annie Lee (Johnston) Pace.
Nancy is survived by her three children, a daughter, Nancy Rebecca Spikes (Dennis), two sons, Joseph
Henry Solomons (Darlina) and William Michael Solomons, Sr. (Deborah) and a sister-in-
law, Beulah “Bea” Fosmire. Nancy is also survived by nine grandchildren, Christopher
Alvarez, Daniel Solomons, Johnathan Alvarez, Amanda King, Rachel Windsor, Andrew
Solomons, Joshua Solomons, Holly Solomons and William Solomons Jr., and by
fourteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Chloe.
Nancy was baptized into Christ by her son Michael at her residence and attended
services regularly at the Highway 30 Church of Christ, where she loved the sermons
and participated in congregational singing and fellowship with great enjoyment.
Visitation on November 8, 2024, will begin at 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service
at 12:00pm at the Highway 30 Church of Christ, 1952 Noel C. Conaway Road, with
burial at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA, at 2:00pm.
