Patricia Lynn Murphy Knight, 76, passed away peacefully at her home in Garden City, GA, January 14, 2025.
Tish was the loving and devoted wife of Virgil Knight for 50 years. She lived out her lifelong dream of being a stay-at-home mom of which her daughter and son are forever grateful. Her joy multiplied when she became “Meme” to her three grandsons.
She trained to be a chemical technician but chose to stay at home. While at home, she maintained the books for her husband’s HVAC business. After their children grew up, she assisted him with service calls.
Tish’s greatest joy was when the whole family was together. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially at Christmas time. Her pecan pies, divinity, and lady fingers were incredible!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Knight; her parents, Henry & Anita Murphy; her sisters, Cynthia Weeks and Kathy Saturday; and her brother, David Murphy.
Surviving Tish, are her daughter and son-in-law, Karen K. Smith & Timothy W. Smith; son and daughter-in-law, V. Kelly Knight, Jr. & Ginny R. Knight; grandsons, Dalton, Keaton, and Colton Knight; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving her is her most beloved three-legged cat, Ellie, who always brought a smile to her face especially during her last weeks here on earth.
There will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00am, Saturday, January 18, at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Garden City, GA.
In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances in her name to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416. The family is very grateful for the impact they had on her life.
At the end of every conversation, she would tell her family that she loved us “mostest and mostly”. Mom, we love you “mostest and mostly”, too!!
Offer Condolence for the family of Patricia (Tish) M. Knight

Karen, Tim and the rest of the family, may I offer my deepest sympathy in the loss of Mrs. Tish. She was one of the lovingest individuals I ever met. Never did I see her without a smile on her face and a loving word to share with me. Her legacy shall live on in her children and grandchildren. Her presence here will be missed, and yet she is celebrating now being with Our Lord! With love and admiration for a Blessed family.

Karen, Tim, Kelly and family my thoughts and prayers are with you as you say an earthly goodbye to Mrs. Tish. She was a very special woman of God and I treasured the times I got to spend with your family. I believe that the people who touch our lives live on in each of us because of the lessons we learned from them. What a blessed legacy of love, faith and family you have through your life experiences with your parents, grandparents, and extended family.

Karen, Kelly, and family I am very sorry for your tremendous loss. Ms. Tish was so sweet to me always; we became close during your dads illness. She was such a strong loving lady that loved to talk about her family. She loved each of you so much; and, was so proud. This is such a great loss for each of you; try to keep the memories that make you smile in the forefront of your mind. May God give each of you comfort during this most difficult time. John 16:22 (NKJV)

Karen and family: My prayers and condolences are with you. Tish was a wonderful person and neighbor. I always enjoyed visits with her and Virgil. She wanted to know how our lives were moving and stayed interested in what my daughter, Ashley, was doing. When Glenn and I got married she gave us a Christmas cactus that we still have and each bloom will continue to remind us of the beautiful person your mom was. May you find peace and strength in time.

I was so sad to hear of Ms. Knights passing. She was one of my 1st ball coaches and hosted one of the 1st pajama parties I attended as a kid. She was so much a part of my life growing up. Thought and prayers to her family.

Karen, Kelly and family, from 5 years old your parents took me in as one of their own. I knew I was safe, lived and at home with them and that was so important for me, but most importantly, they also adopted my son and they showed him the exact same love. I’m forever grateful and so lucky to have had them in my life.

Karen, Kelly and family condolences and many hugs.
I only knew your mom about 6 years, from many stories I’ve heard it seems longer. She always has a kind smile and warm hello, how have you been for me. She will be dearly missed by me and so many more she had touched over the years with her gentle soul.
