We have recently been made aware that individuals impersonating funeral home employees in Savannah are contacting families and asking for additional payment over the phone. Please know that we will not call asking for payment over the phone. Please, do not pay any individual over the phone, rather call the police immediately. If you are ever unsure with whom you are speaking, we encourage you to call us directly and speak with our staff.

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.
May the many fond memories of your loved one provide you with peace and serenity at this time of loss.

Peter and family-
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Phil will be greatly missed.
I was thinking about this story the other day…he was telling us one day about how he thought his Grandmother was the Queen of England when he was younger. So amusing the way he told it!

Great friend and guy to work with. We met 11 years ago working together at Flagler hospital in St Augustine for 3 years. After that we worked together for about 4 years here at Memorial before he had to leave. Luckily for me we became better friends after his diagnosis. The last 4 years were good ones since we got to go out every few weeks to his favorite restaurant La Nopalera in Richmond Hill. I was really impressed how positive and upbeat he was those last few years and learned some good lessons from that. He will really be missed here, because everyone enjoyed working with him. Rest in peace friend. Scott F

Did you ever work for Winn Dixie as a pharmacist?

I feel so lucky to have had such a great friend. He was the life of the party and so much fun to be around. I especially remember one night he said to me, “enjoy every moment and love one another”. He will be greatly missed. I cherish the moments we got to spend together.

An Irish Blessing..
Feel no guilt in laughter, he’d know how much you care. Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to. He’d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,
That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here,
And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart
And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.

I used to say to myself that I did not like that I met Phil after his cancer diagnosis. Mostly for selfish reasons, he was such a joy to talk to , learn from, be around. I used to wish I could have known him prior to the cancer diagnosis so that I could have had his full attention and ability to be around him all the time, have him all to myself to learn what he could teach me about life. But then I realized there was a reason we met after. I still learned so much from him, especially about life amd how to live! Not to give up, to have a good attitude, be optimistic, funny, sharing, no matter what card you have been dealt. These are all of the things I learned from Phil, and more (boy does he know a lot about diamonds and cars! I hope I kept my notes from one of our diamond learning sessions:) ) I am sure he is still sharing, and telling his stories. Pete, I am so sorry for your loss. You guys are an inspiration to any couple. I love you both!

Pete,
Dave and I are so sorry for your loss. As your neighbor and your friend, I know the love you and Phill have for each other. I have never witnessed such a beautiful, compassionate, giving, caring and simply amazing relationship between two people. You fought his battle with him as hard as he fought. Phill was such a kind, strong and funny man. He will be missed, the neighborhood will never be same. But what he represented-strength, determination, and love-both of life and for you, will ALWAYS remain! Two memories I will always have are-you (always by his side) and he walking to make him stronger, and the two of you riding through the neighborhood, top down on the Mercedez, sun shining and good ol rock and roll playing on the radio. I remember saying to myself-now there are two people who truly know the meaning of living life!!! May your memories and the beautiful things you shared carry you through the days ahead. My thoughts and prayers will always be with you and we are here if you need us. He was truly an inspiration to me.

Phill left me with lots of great memories that will not be forgotten. Working with Phill at Memorial made my day, all the laughs and conversation about so many things .
After he left Memorial we still had so many laughs ,my heart has a empty spot.
But I will always remember him telling me that “you’re going to miss me when I’m gone!” so true.. Phill was a true friend

Phill will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of meeting him. I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2008 when I started at the pharmacy at Memorial. He was a great person and I am proud to say he was a friend to me. He also had a smile on his face and a kind word to say. You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thoughts and Prayer,

Peter,
Words fail as I try to find the right ones to comfort you. To love Phill was to love you, so I don’t think you’ll mind my saying that Phillip was my best friend. I remember the day you called me “family” as I had none of my own. I know you helped mend my heart as I feel it breaking once again. To bear witness to your love was a privilege and a pleasure.
I remember the Christmases. I remember the generosity, humor, intelligence and grace. I promise you, I will remember it all. Thank you for taking such extraordinary care of Phillip.
He lives in my heart forever, so I will always be his ‘Suzy Q.’

Phill was such an awesome guy, his love of all things southern and particularly his love for “Gone With the Wind” bonded us instantly when we met over 4 years ago on the first of our annual trips to Savannah. He was just overflowing with information regarding just about everywhere we wanted to visit, and loved to share his knowledge. This year our trip to Jekyll Island will be in his honor and we will see the historical side of the island that he loved so much.
To Peter and Susan, know that he will always live on in your hearts. You meant so much to him. Our prayers are with you and with the Love family. You now have a Guardian Angel watching over you from heaven.
Much love,

Pete and family:
Words can’t express my sadness over your loss. Everything that I want to say about Phill is a complete understatement – he did everything so beautifully, perfectly, and lovingly.
I remember the first time I got to bond with Phill, I was visiting my mom across the street. Pete and Phill came over and Phill and I watched Jeopardy. He kept complimenting me on my right answers, all the while poking fun at my heavy Cleveland/Yankee accent when I’d get an answer right. I knew then why my mother always saw him as the brother she never had. I thank you, Peter, for sharing your love and his with my mom – you will never know the joy and comfort that it has brought me to see her adopted family love her so much. Phill will never be gone, there are too many great stories and memories… and part of me thinks/knows that was Phill’s plan all along. You are so in our thoughts and hearts.
Love from Columbus, Ohio.
