
Pricillia Tonya Q. Vaughn, 80, of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Pricillia was born on October 9, 1944, in Baltimore, MD, to Francis Barnett and Sindy Rhodes Barnett. She was a graduate of Robert Moton Junior-Senior High School in Westminster, MD.
Throughout her life, Pricillia had a diverse and fulfilling career. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree and worked in various fields, including as a court stenographer, medical assistant, and medical transcriber in Newport News, VA. She also worked at Newport News Shipyard & Dry Dock Co. and Langley Air Force Base. Pricillia devoted her later years to being a loving caregiver to her husband, James C. Vaughn Jr., until his passing.
Pricillia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 50 years, James C. Vaughn Jr.; her parents, Francis and Sindy Barnett; her sister, Peggy L. Rhodes-Huntley; her sister, Edna Barnett; her twin brothers, Frank and Francis Barnett; and her brother, Robert Barnett.
She is survived by her three children: Lisa Vaughn (VA), Tonya Vaughn (GA), and James A. Vaughn (VA); three grandchildren: Tanisha Vaughn (VA), Christina Houston (VA), and Aaliyah Elliot (GA); six great-grandchildren: Ryan and Rhianna (VA), Trent and Taylor (VA), Holly (VA), and Elias (GA); her brother, Verdell Barnett (MD); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
In honor of her wishes, there will be no funeral services.
Pricillia will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
