Retha M. Howsie, 88, of Greer, SC, formerly of Savannah, GA, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 in Greer, SC.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Families First Funeral Care in Savannah, GA on Monday, July 18, 2022. She will be laid to rest following a committal service at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, SC.
Retha M. Howsie was born on August 8, 1933 in Fairville, NC to the late Henry and Amanda Johnson.
Retha was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She often talked about living in Paradise and how she would love to have her family there with her.
In her earlier years Retha was a certified nurse assistant and certified beautician. Retha also was an excellent seamstress.
Before her health failed, she enjoyed working in her yard and sewing. One of her hobbies was bowling in leagues.
She was preceded in death by 12 brothers and 1 sister.
She leaves cherish memories to 5 nieces and 4 nephews.
