Richard Byrd Lewis, known to family and friends as Dickey, passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 94.
He was born in Brentwood, NY, and moved to Savannah, GA, with his family at the age of 4. He was the son of William and Margaret (McKenna) Lewis.
Dickey was a proud, independent man with a loving heart. Raised Catholic, he was a jack of all trades who always put his family first. A devoted father, he was known for his playful nature, love of board games, and his ability to make others laugh. While not without his flaws, he was a great father and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings, and his two eldest children, Crystal and Sylvia.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Brenda, along with nine children, 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Dickey was cremated on April 19, 2025, and we take comfort knowing that he is now at peace, watching over us in Heaven from above.

I’m so sorry Brenda and Brent. I know you’re happy not seeing him suffer any more. At the same time your loss brings a sadness and emptiness where he used to be. Draw near to God’s peace especially since thats where Dickey is now. Steve, Laura Fordham
