Posted By Kyle Nikola On June 29, 2020 @ 9:38 am In Obituaries | 16 Comments

Robert C. Crosby, Jr. departed this life on June 27th, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Robert was born in Savannah, Georgia on January 22, 1955 to the late Robert C. Crosby, Sr. and Eleanor Crosby, where he resided nearly his entire life. He loved Savannah.

Robert graduated from Johnson High School. Robert’s passion for and love of music led him to become an avid drummer for many years. He had the pleasure of working with such bands as High Velocity, Georgia Fire, and was one of the founding members of the Big Money Band. He also went on the road playing in and around Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas with the band One Point Five back in his younger years. Robert also mastered Karaoke and brought his talent to many Savannah businesses. He was a painter by trade and a musician by nights and weekends for most of his life.

Robert is well known in Savannah and the surrounding areas and he will be dearly missed by many of his lifelong friends, including those who were fortunate enough to share their love and bring comfort to him in this past year, especially Billie Sue Castle Warman, Bobby Miller and his wife Mary, Raymond Miller, John Sexton and Jeff T-Bone Taylor and a host of other friends who gave him unwavering hope during his long battle.

Robert is survived by a son, Christopher Scott of Pooler, Georgia and a daughter, Jessica Town of Minnesota. He also leaves behind two sisters, Diane Crosby Leopard and Beth White, also of Georgia.

Funeral Services will be Private, with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later time. Many thanks to Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center and the staff who cared for Robert in very trying times. He was loved and will be deeply missed.

My Dearest Brother, Robin – as I have always called you since I was a child, I am so Sorry that I could not be there for you as you went through this heart breaking journey. Life is sometimes unfair in that things were such that it was Best for us to stay away. I tried to keep up with you and your condition as best as I could, and knew the last time I saw you, back in February, that it wouldn’t be long…. my Heart Ached for you, and what you were going through, knowing that I could not be there you….. but at the same time, I knew where you were going, and that you were going to be with Mom, Dad and all of our Family and Friends, but most Importantly, you would be with the Lord!!!! You are in such a better place, you can Sing and Play your Drums for Jesus! I can hear it now! I know Uncle Bud and Grandaddy Hall joined in!!!
Please know that I have Always Loved You…. we may not have seen Eye to Eye on Alot of things in life, but I have Always Loved you. You are my BIG BROTHER!
I Love and Miss You so much, especially your laugh!
Until we meet again…. I Love You!
Please give tell Momma and Daddy I Love them too, and can’t wait to see you all again!

Robert, You are missed by everyone. When our son messaged me and told me you had passed, it hit me like a ton of bricks, I got on the phone and called Sue to check on her. She loved you very much. We were married for 5 yrs, you were into music then, over the yrs you got better. You and I always remained friends. When you met Sue I was so happy for you, you were happy. She was with you for 17 yrs. Im sure you are watching from heaven and playing your drums. A heavenly band. I didnt know about your service, I wouldve been there. You are missed and You’ll always be loved by everyone. I know I should have written this a long time ago, I am just now seeing it. You rest in peace, until we all see you again. You’ve earned your wings..Color my world.
