
Robert Douglas Lockard, age 72, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at home surrounded by family.
Doug was born on January 19, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the parents of Doris L. Osborne and Robert Irvin Lockard. Later, he moved to Georgia and opened, Doug’s Auto Collision in Hinesville, Georgia which he owned and ran for over 30 years.
Doug was a jokester that loved to stir stuff up. He made it impossible not to love him. He knew everyone, and everyone knew him. Doug cherished the bond of family and enjoyed being close to them. On April 17, 1999, after many coffee dates, and conversations that would last all night, he married Debra “Debbie” Lockard and made it his mission to spoil her rotten. Together, they enjoyed vacations to North Carolina, Las Vegas and spent many hours laughing, playing cards, and simply enjoying each other’s company.
Doug is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie” Lockard; three sons, Brandon “B.J.” (Nicole) Lockard, Robert Lockard, Paul (Roseanne) Stavely ; two daughters, Patricia (Bill) Robertson, Deanna “Sue” Lockard; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Ron Lockard.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carrie Robertson; one brother, Don Lockard; and one sister, Jenette Petry
The family will be receiving friends between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Families First Funeral Care & Cremation Center, 1328 Dean Forest Road, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Brown officiating.
Entombment will immediately follow at Hillcrest Abbey West.
