Robert Lee Lewis was born the sixth child of thirteen on March 3, 1942 to the late Joe Lewis and Elizabeth Lewis of Fort Meade, FL, has now entered eternal rest July 10, 2020. He was married to the late Lula Mae Lewis for 56 years who stayed by her side and honored her until she entered eternal rest May 18, 2020. He leaves his six “girls” to carry his legacy Phyllis Martin (Virgil), Rhonda Cheever (Tony), Wanda Harvey (Darryl), Bridget Stephens (Lamar), Danyelle Bligen (Tyrone), Laquinta Larry (Robert), and one godson CC Williams (Angela). He has 11 grandchildren LaCarsha Williams (Dante), Robert Harvey, Jillyan Williams (Andre), Brandon Watters, Shatari Albert (Kourtney), Tiffany Stephens, Gabriel Stephens, Joshua Harvey, Dorian Stephens, Marcus Walker, and Myles Walker. He has nine great grands, Jdyn, Ava, Jayel, Khyzan, Robert Jr, Joshua, Jr, Zy’mere, Marcus Jr., and May’Jour.
Robert Lewis retired from Owens Corning after 47 as Senior Mechanic Specialist in 2010. He was an avid bowler, cooked the best barbecue, and never met stranger that he did not make an impression. His family in Fort Meade was his life he leaves the fold to his surviving siblings: Sister in Law, Gladys Lewis, Samuel Lewis (Annette), Richard Lewis, Harold Lewis (Betty), Johnny Lewis, and Vivian Dunlap, and host of nieces and nephews. He had seven siblings that preceded in death Teresa, Edward, Mildred, Bernard, Alice, Clarence and Ernest. Also, from marriage, he leaves one brother in law Harold Barney (Gladys) and four sister in laws Florrie Lee Barney, Gwendolyn Campbell, Carolyn Hilton, and Dorothy Brown (Joe). He will be greatly missed by coworkers, neighbors, friends, and family. His best buddy and friends Mr. Tremble and Jeffrey will definitely miss him. He was a charismatic person who would give you the shirt off his back, now he’s reunited with his Love Lula Mae Lewis her “Rudy”. Although we did not want you to go, and it was so unexpected, we will always hold you close. We love you and will cherish you forever.
The family thanks every neighbor and friends that always looked over the Lewis family, it did not go unnoticed. The family also would like to thank Georgia Hospice of Savannah. The family is deeply saddened, and we ask that you respect our privacy at this time, so we can find peace. Condolences for the family of “Robert Lee Lewis”
Daddy you were everything to me. The first man to love me unconditionally. We definitely had a very close bond. I feel like I can’t even breathe without you, but I know you are with mama and in a better place, however, I don’t know who can replace you…who is going to look after my car…who going to pack me goody bags…or who going to pick me fresh vegetables? I will always remember your love for your “girls.”
My heart is shattered…I hope it will mend. I just wanted to take care of you for all you have done, but God needed you more. I will make you proud what’s left of me.

I send my sincerest condolences to the children and the rest of the family.
I met Mr. Lewis in 2012. He was friendly and funny. I last spoke with him about 3 weeks or so before his passing. He will be missed.♥️♥️
My prayers are with the family. May God continue to give you the strength during this time of sorrow
