Rose Marie Hayes November 10, 1942 - October 10, 2025.

A native of, Ft. Myers, FL, she was the daughter of the late Clifford N. and Shirley Marie Lawrence Baker.

Rose Marie was baptized at 11 years of age in 1953 under the late pastor, Reverend John Wallace, at Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, Ft. Myers, Florida. She practiced the Methodist faith. Rose Marie was a product of the original Dunbar High School, Ft. Myers, FL. She was a member in the Class of 1960. She continued her studies at University of South Florida and was awarded a master’s degree from Florida A & M University in English Education. Rose Marie worked as a probation officer in Hillsborough and Lee Counties, Florida until she retired.

Rose Marie was predeceased by her parents, three children: James Pratt, Jr., Bruce Hayes, Beverly Hayes, and two sisters, Clifford Marie Baker and Mary Baker Hunt (June 2, 2025).

Surviving family members are: Daughters: Gail Marie Pratt (Anthony) Washington, Sacramento, CA, Sharon Denise Pratt and Bridgette Leandra Hayes, Ft. Myers, FL; Grandchildren: Gwendolyn Hayes, raised as a daughter, Savannah, GA; Timothy LaSalle James Washington, Paul Bogle Nenes, Howard James Drummond, Tia Raynisha Glenn, and Ellis Leland Jenkins; One sister, Jean Baker Barnes, Tallahassee, FL and a special bonus sister-of-love, Doris McGriff Gary, Ft. Myers. One niece, Melody (William) Jacobs Fayetteville, NC and One nephew, Lyric Barnes, Tallahassee, FL and other sorrowing family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at Strong and Jones Funeral Chapel, Tallahassee, FL, TBD.
