Roy Timothy Taylor, lovingly known as Tim or Timmy, passed away on June 27, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, after a brief illness. He was 65 years old.
Born in Alma, Georgia, on April 17, 1960, Tim grew up surrounded by family, faith, and a love of sports. Whether he was playing ball as a kid or cheering on his favorite teams as an adult, sports were a lifelong passion. But even more than the game, Tim loved the people in his life.
Though he never had children of his own, Timmy adored his nieces and nephews and treated them like his own. His generous spirit, big heart, and signature wit made him the fun uncle — the one who could always make you laugh and made you feel loved while doing it. He had a special gift in the kitchen, too, with his famous scalloped potatoes becoming a much-anticipated dish at every family gathering.
Tim is survived by his siblings Kim Ellison (Roger), Cindy Hearman, and Bruce Taylor. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lillie Taylor; his brother, Tony Taylor; his sister, Robyn White; brother-in-law Marvin Hearman; sister-in-law Jeanette Taylor; and brother-in-law Allen White.
Timmy’s life was filled with laughter, love, and loyalty. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing him.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to those who cared for Tim during his final days — your kindness, compassion, and support meant the world to him and to all of us. Your care brought comfort in a difficult time, and we are forever grateful.

Timmy was an awesome guy growing up. I played a lot of baseball with him at the P.I.A. park. He never a bad word about anyone. Even though we lost contact later in life he will always be in my thoughts. Praying For God’s Grace.

One of my best friends,we played all sports together as children and continued into adulthood with softball,he was an all-star in all of them,in football,he was a little small, but when he hit you,it was like being hit by a truck,he packed a hell of a punch. In baseball he once turned a triple play unassisted,we always said it was “Taylor Made’ We also worked together for years at Alterman Truck,Lines,he was one the hardest worker there, Although haven’t seen him in a while, he’s often on my mind and in conversation,May God bless him and his family.RIP TIMMY love and miss!!!
