Ruth Barbara Perkins, 95, of Savannah, Georgia, went Home to her Lord, Friday, May 22, 2015, after a brief illness. Ruth Perkins, was the daughter of Thomas and Bernice Johnston, and loving wife of H. Porter Perkins.
Her daughter, Barbara Treadwell of Savannah, and son, Thomas Perkins, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, survive her. Three grandchildren also survive Ruth: Katharine Treadwell, William Perkins, and Mark Perkins. Her first grandson, Terry Treadwell, predeceased her. She also has two great grandchildren, Harley and Rocco Gargano.
Ruth was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1920. She met her husband, Cy, just before the War in 1940. They were married for 67 years before his passing. Cy, a nuclear engineer for Westinghouse, with Ruth, lived in Boston, Ma, Augusta, Me, Pittsburgh, Pa, Albuquerque, N.M., Washington State, Mobile, Al, and finally Savannah. Ruth had an incredible manner of making everyone feel special. This was evident in her many gifts as a gracious host, an excellent cook, and always with a tender heart. Ruth possessed an uncanny combination of Bostonian dignity and an unfiltered sense of humor. Those who knew and loved her will sorely miss Ruth.
Please join us to celebrate Ruth’s life this Monday, May 25th, 11am, at the home of Barbara Treadwell, 213 East Gaston St.

A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others. May the love of those around you help you through the days ahead.
May the many fond memories of your loved one provide you with peace and serenity at this time of loss.
