Sammy Lee Jones Sr. was born on June 1, 1949 to Hal Jones Sr. and Emma Lee Hobson Jones in Rankin County, Mississippi.
He attended school in Rankin County. Sam loved to go fishing and hunting. He loved his grandchildren.
Sammy married Patricia Denise Jones on May 7, 1987.
Sam is preceded in death by his parents Hal Jones Sr. and Emma Lee Jones. His siblings Pat Dave Stevens, Ruby Lee Thomas, Larry Stevens, Tommie Lee Stevens and Mary Louise Jones. His Sister-in-Law Sharon Louise Rice.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife Patricia Denise Jones. His sons Sammy Lee Jones Jr., of Alabaster, Alabama and Kaelin Devon Jones of Savannah, Georgia. His daughters Shannon Doral Johnson of Jackson, Mississippi and Sharon Antoinette Rice of Austin, Texas. His Daughter in Law Cle’Asha Lenise Jones of Alabaster, Alabama. His grandchildren Madilyn Lenise Jones, Sammy Lee Jones III, Ju’Micah Lee Jones all of Alabaster, Alabama. Jayden Graham of Austin, Texas. Dorothy Agee, Beunca Luckett, Rashad Johnson and Robie Hays of Jackson, Mississippi. His nephew Xavier Maurice Rice of Gulfport, Mississippi. His siblings Earlean Frazier of Detroit, Michigan, Bonnie Mae (Jimmy) Leonard of Jackson, Mississippi, Mary Alice Jones of Pearl, Mississippi, Emma Jean (Willie) Kitchens of Pearl, Mississippi, Queen Ella Stevenson of Pearl, Mississippi and Charles (Terrie) Stevens of Pearl, Mississippi. Hal (Ann) Jones Jr., of Brandon, Mississippi, Gertrude Brown of Pearl, Mississippi and Evelyn (Sylvester) Ballard of Pasadena, Texas. His Brother-in-Law Willie C. Rice of Savannah, Georgia and Sister-in-Law Annette Riley of Savannah, Georgia. He also leaves four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
