Sandra Ann McDow, 62, “Sandy” to her family and friends, passed from this life on October 31, 2016 after a short illness. She was born on October 15, 1954 in Savannah, Georgia and was employed by Gulfstream Aerospace for the past 24 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James E. McDow, W. Nell Jenkins and Emory Talmadge Jenkins. She is survived by her sisters, Shirley M. McDow and Cheryl J. Ford, niece, Ashley (Mark) Ford Nelson, nephew Daniel (Hannah) Kessler, Jr., three great nephews, Jaxom Nelson, Trace and Tyler Kessler, and great niece, Teagan Kessler. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, her Texas family and a host of friends who considered her family and many lovingly called her “Aunt Sandy.”
Sandy brightened every room she entered and was known for her vivaciousness, generosity, and caring, sharing spirit. She made friends easily and was always there with a kind word or listening ear.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Rincon, Georgia. She was also a member of the Robert W. Groves High School Alumni Breakfast Club and The Magnolias.
The family will receive visitors at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the Parkway Church of Christ, 4360 Ogeechee Road, Savannah, with a Memorial Service to follow at 7:00 P.M..
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation in Sandy’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Savannah, or your favorite charity.
