
Seth Anders Laken, age 48, of Garden City, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Seth was a “bicentennial baby”, born January 2, 1976 to Roger and Barbara Laken of Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Lomira High School class of ‘94 and earned a culinary arts degree at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He worked at the California Cafe in Minnesota which is where he met his wife Lori. They married and had three beautiful children. After 9/11 Seth was inspired to serve his country and enlisted with the Army. His company was with the 1st Battalion, 64th Armored Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division “Wildbunch” at Fort Stewart Georgia. Seth spent 2 of his 4 years deployed in Iraq and was honorably discharged.
He moved his family to Savannah where was a logistics manager at EnviroVac. Seth loved to entertain people with his cooking. He shared BBQ in the desert while deployed and brought everyone together for meals at many family gatherings.
Preceded in death by his father Roger Laken (1980). Survived by his wife Lori of 25 years; son Ethan Laken, daughters Olivia Laken, and Emmy Laken; mother Barbara Laken and sister Amy Lee (David), Loving in-law Carol English. Numerous nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Burial will be held on June 20, 2025 at 12:30 pm at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Following the service a gathering to celebrate Seth’s life will be at his sister’s home in Champlin.
