Sharon Joan Delaini

Posted By Families Firstcare On April 26, 2023 @ 1:10 pm In Obituaries | 10 Comments

Sharon grew up in small rural town in northwest Connecticut dominated by dairy farms. There, early
friendships became lifelong ones. She valued everyone she came to know. Sharon developed a sense of
empathy that led her to devote much of her adult life to the service of others. Whenever Sharon was
around, laughter prevailed. She came to Savannah thirty years ago to study at the Savannah College of
Art and Design. Sharon came to love Savannah and after graduation, the city became her home.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Gene and Claire. She and her mother had a relationship few
mothers and daughters can match. Sharon is survived by her three older brothers , a niece, three
nephews, a lot of cousins and a Savannah family who were very dear to her.

Condolences for the family of “Sharon Joan Delaini”

Condolence from Mitch Cole on April 27th, 2023 9:05 am

I am so very sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was a vibrant part of the house church fellowship we once had here in Savannah. I always enjoyed talking with her about the Bible, Jesus and all sorts of things. One thing that was consistent in our conversations was laughter. She was such a happy person to be with. Kay and I will be prayin for all of her family and friends. Know that she was a real Blessing to me and those she touched.

With sincerity and a heavy heart,
Mitch Cole.

My heart aches on the loss of my friend. Sharon and I met when we both attended SCAD. Sharon was fun to be around, and she was an excellent cook. I am sad that we hadn’t spoke in awhile.

Knew Sharon for a brief time when we shared in Bible studies with a small group of very special Christian sisters. She was an amazing servant who showed Jesus to everyone.

Sharon was a woman of strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always referred to God as “her husband”. Sharon was such a shining star in a world that can be dark at times. Thank you Sharon, for allowing me to have a part in your journey on this earth. I will always cherish my friendship with you. Until we meet again in the presence of our God, love you Sharon Delaney.

Condolence from Nancy Elizabeth Johnson on May 8th, 2023 8:52 pm

Sharon was a precious loving and giving person who loved people and animals. She was a mighty prayer warrior and her prayers fortified the spirit of anyone praying with her for others. I have been thinking about her these past three weeks and just learned today of your loss. A bright loving light in this world just moved on.

Condolence from Kym McCarty on May 22nd, 2023 6:43 pm

I met Sharon years ago at church, and we attended the same Bible studies. I always wanted to be in her groups with the other “mature” ladies as their wisdom and insight was what I yearned for, especially during a critical struggle in my life back then. Sharon was a mentor, a friend, and an inspiration to me on our faith journeys. Although we drifted apart and lost contact over the recent years, I always still thought of her often and as a dear friend, someone I would always and will always love and hold close to my heart. My sweet friend, I thank God for you. I know where you are, united with Him. I know we will be together again some day.

I’m so very sad to learn this today! I grew up with Sharon, worked with her at the local grocery store and attended a youth fellowship group with her.
I am so happy I got to spend a couple days with her a few years ago when I visited Savannah. She was still her vibrant, full of life srlf! We toured nature preserves and took pictures – she loved her camera and especially loved taking photos of mushrooms!
I’ll miss her dearly if I ever return to Savannah! ❤️
