Sheldon passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was grateful for the gift of almost two years since his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Sheldon is survived by his best friend and wife of 36 years, Kathy, their two wonderful children and their spouses, Kendra (Brandon) Lively, two grandsons, Jackson and Ian Lively, Nathan (Caitlin) Kanis, expected grandchild due in May. A brother Alan (Robin) Kanis, nephews Joshua and Ryan Kanis.
Sheldon was an amazing man who lived his life fully enjoying his jazz music, good food, and his many friends. He was a skilled Musical Instrument Repair Technician who managed the repair shop at Portman’s Music Superstore for 30 years. He always had a smile and a joke for everyone. He adored his wife, children, their spouses and his beautiful grandchildren. They were the joy in his life. His kindness and generosity of heart will always be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His sense of humor and ability to make others laugh was his gift. Sheldon’s presence will be greatly missed but will live on in our hearts.
A Celebration of his life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
