Shirley Ann Clarke, 76, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Hospice Savannah.
She was born October 8, 1945, in the Bronx of New York City and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina. She moved to Savannah in 1972, after living in Dallas, Texas for 8 years. She worked for the City of Savannah for 27 years and retired in 2006, working her final years at the Mary Flournoy Golden Age Center.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ms. Bell Newton, and sisters, Barbara Clarke and Theresa Clarke. She will forever be loved and remembered by her children, Angela Calloway and Lonney Clarke, granddaughter, Tarsha (Aaron) Taylor, grandsons, Kenneth Calloway Jr., Demetrius Clarke, Antonio Lee and Christopher Soloman, great-grandson, Khalil Lee, dog Queenie, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 11:00 to 11:30 am at Families First Funeral Care with Graveside Services to follow at 12:00 pm in Magnolia Memory Gardens.
