Stan Adams, Sr. 68, born in Savannah, Georgia, August 5, 1950 passed from this life into the next on September 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Adams and Gladys Harrison Adams, and his sister Shirley A. Bielet and brothers George W. Jr., Joe, Don Adams.
He made a huge impact on so many lives personally and professionally. The sentiments of his sons captures the man we all love: “Our fondest memories of our dad has always been of simply being a true humanitarian. He was always cheerful, always giving and always helping others regardless of age. His demeanor was always respectful to those that knew him. This is not to say that he never became demanding on behalf of good causes – he could be quite insistent. But to describe dad as ‘kind’ would be the most extreme understatement we can imagine.”
Stan Adams dedication to excellence led him to become a charter member of the Sanctuary Church in Savannah where he served as a Deacon and an Usher for many years.
Adams was affectionately known as “Uncle Stan, Brother Stan, Papa, Daddy, and simply Stan” by all who knew him. Whether deer hunting in the woods with friends, vacationing in the mountains with his family, sharing a good meal around the dinner table, singing the old church hymns, or inviting the less fortunate to the family Thanksgiving dinner, Adams loved people. Coaching baseball, gardening, football, and summers in the pool with his grandchildren were some of his hobbies. He lived a life full of kindness and generosity.
Adams, is survived by his brother Jimmy Adams, and sister Betty Adams-Beauchane and his beloved wife, Gloria Norris Adams and their three sons and spouses: Stan, Jr., Jason Scott, Jamie (Kara) 8 grandchildren and their spouses: Sarah Shubert (Myk) Lauren Chancey (Lawton), Hannah (Trevor) Katie, Lindsay, Zack, Logan, Emma. He also has 5 great-grandchildren: Landon, Lakelyn, Cohen, Clayton and another great grandson (Lennox) on the way and the numerous nieces and nephews who were all very special to him.
The family would like to recognize the outpouring of love and support from the Sanctuary Church, and the many friends and co-workers who became our extended family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 4th, 2018 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at The Sanctuary of Savannah, 8912 Whitefield Ave in Savannah with Funeral Services to follow at 7:00 P.M. Interment: Friday, October 5th, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Gloria, Stanley,Jr., Jason and Jamie- We are heartbroken and truly sorry for the loss of a great man. Please know he was a blessing to those around him in a quiet, compassionate way. Words are inadequate to express our appreciation for the many ways he assisted in the care of mother during her years of illness and until her death. I am sure Bea Norris welcomed him with open arms as described in Hebrews 12 when he arrived on Sunday,September 30. What a love he had for people! In this time grief, we praise the Lord for Stan and family.

Gloria,StanJr.,Jason and Jamie,
We are praying for you that God will strengthen you during this time of grief. Stan was a special person who loved his family. He exemplified compassion and care to our family by showing our mother, Bea Norris, love, encouragement and strong support during her good days and during her last years. Hebrews 12 came to mind when we heard of his stepping out of pain and suffering into the arms of God and joining that great cloud of witnesses described in the above scripture. Bea was waiting for him with outstretched arms. She loved Stan Adams! Our prayers continue to be with you!
