
Terry Lee Phillips Sr age 78, passed away Wednesday July 9th, 2025 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1947 in Reidsville, Ga and after his family moved to Savannah in the 1950s. He spent the remainder of his life there. He attended Savannah High School where he excelled in sports and went on to have a career in construction. At the age of 18 he met and married his true love Dolores Joan Gilpin Phillips, whom he shared the remaining sixty years of his life. Together they share two children, Terry Lee Phillips Jr, Mallory Murphy Phillips and his grandchildren Erin Gay and Ethan Polk. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching westerns and sports but most of all the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets. He will remembered for his great sense of humor, his wonderful laugh and an unwavering loyalty to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren of Savannah, GA. His brother William Henry “Cathy” Phillips of Hollywood, FL, Donnie (Tammy) Phillips of Garden City, Gary (Paula) Phillips of Summerville, SC, Timmy (Melody) Phillips of Faulkville, Sandi (Glen) Morgan of Savannah, Denise (Barry) Sanders of Collins and a great number of nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents Atha Wise Phillips and Lewis Phillips of Reidsville, Ga, his brothers Freddie, Gene and Jerry and his sister Elizabeth.

Terry loved his family and friends dearly. And it is true he loved those Ga Tech yellow jackets and he enjoyed them playing Ga Bulldogs. Most times he was the only one in the room for the yellow jackets but he didn’t waiver because he was his own man. He was one of a kind for sure. My heart is with you, Dar, and your whole family.
