Tyres Edward Watson

Posted By Kyle Nikola On September 10, 2021 @ 9:55 am In Obituaries | 3 Comments

Edward, 71, of Vidalia, passed away on Saturday, September 4th at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital.

He was born in Savannah on July 24, 1950 to Tyres and Margaret Watson. He was a dedicated and committed insulator for The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 96 in Savannah. He became a member of Local 96 on August 11, 1974.

He was a member of Calvary on Aimwell Church in Vidalia. He deeply loved the Lord and was a faithful servant of the small things: like blowing leaves in the morning, making coffee for Sunday school class, bringing donuts and just being there to help others. He loved southern gospel music and he enjoyed purchasing old cars (they usually did not run).

Edward loved to make up words. So much so, that often no one knew what he was talking about. He loved to make people laugh. Some of his special words were: settin and wettin (sitting and waiting for people who aren’t on time), hondaroid (Honda car), hot quat (what?), I do…don’t know (I don’t want to give you an answer).

He was preceded in death by his parents (Tyres and Margaret) and brother (David). He is survived by his wife, Sheri, of 21 years; and two daughters, Amy Peth and Julie Brazell; two sisters (Theresa Fetty and Teri Mead); 3 brothers (Glynn, Larry and Barry) and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will have a burial service on Friday, September 10th, 2021 at 3:00pm at Greenwich Cemetery in Bonaventure, 330 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, Georgia.

No more pain for you Ed. Our hearts are broken but we will rejoice when we join you once again! We will always love you.

Condolences for the family of “Tyres Edward Watson”

Condolence from Debbie Lovelace Clifton on September 10th, 2021 11:19 am

Mr. Ed was a wonderful Christian man with a witty personality. I loved his sense of humor. He’ll be missed so much. My prayers are with Sheri and the family.

Condolence from Theresa on September 11th, 2021 12:41 pm

Hey, it’s Theresa. I’m sure gona miss our daily texting silly nonsense. I’m gona miss our camping trips. You popping over w no heads up & saying I was in town. Our lunches , when you did surprise me & just pop up. Oh and of course- you popping up with a different vehicle as if you just bought a plant or a bike!!! New car of the month club. Yep, you definitely could be aggravating but everyone alive is set in their own way. It’s gona be a long time before I realize why you haven’t text today. I’ve already thought several times about sending you a message. It’s hard & it does hurt. But Praise God you are not in constant pain with those Shingles anymore. It tickled me to hear you talk about how much you loved to serve The Lord and how God
Has been so good to you.
Prayerfully we will all join you before long. I was very proud to visit your church in the drama and watch Edward The Angel. How nice. I sure Love you & I’m missing you very much. See you very soon

Condolence from Sheri Watson on September 15th, 2021 9:18 pm

I feel the very same way Theresa! I love him & miss him. I know his earthly pain is over, but it’s so hard to accept that He is not here. Out of God’s great love – He chose to call Edward to Heaven. I’m forever grateful for all the great times we had camping, kayaking, traveling, hanging out roasting hot dogs or some-mores. Seeing things I would never have experienced had we not lived such an unconventional life living in a camper over 10 yrs and sometimes moving to a new job with one hours notice. You are forever in my heart is the inscription on rings he bought one day off “online garage sale”. That was Ed! Agree with you Theresa – we will join him soon & what a day of rejoicing that will be.
Love & Miss you Edrd😘
