Ms. Vallie E. Wilcox Evans, 69, of Garden City, died Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Abercorn Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Georgia.
She was born in Savannah March 22, 1952, and grew up in Garden City where she returned to live for the past 20 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and loved listening to gospel music.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar E. Wilcox, Sr. She is survived by her mother, Nancy L. Wilcox of Garden City; her children, Ronny Winkel of Shelby, NC and Christina and Jamie Furse of Lancaster, SC; two grandchildren, Levi Winkel and Sara Furse; her sisters and brothers, Patsy and Billy West of Kathleen, Emmitt and Kerrie Wilcox, Jr. of Garden City, Teresa and Bert Hammond of Portal, and James and Julia Wilcox of Garden City; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her soulmate, Herbie Evans, whom she loved dearly.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date at Central Baptist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Kenny Harrelson.
