Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Marcia Purvis Jones, two daughters, Melissa Jones and Natalie Jones Houston (Matthew) and a beloved sister, Marcella Jones. Two brothers-in-law, Milton E. Purvis, Jr. (Martha), and John L. Purvis (Teresa).

Ladies,
I am sorry for your loss. My apologies for being absent so long. In our busy world there never seems to be enough time, and then you realize there is time. Make it happen. Even at this age, we still learn the hard way.

My condolences Marcia and daughters, Billy ( as we called him in HS ) was a great guy in our Bristol HS class of ’70…he was well liked by his whole class and loved playing soccer with a bunch of great and successful guys. We lost contact for so many years until we connected on FB and got to catch up on our life’s past. I loved his ‘Willie Nelson’ look with his long hair and love for guitars and music. It’s always so hard when we lose another classmate as we are getting fragile in our ‘young’ years. He will be missed by many of us. RIP Billy ’til we meet again. … J.P.
