Betty Lou Smith Thompson, age 80, of Savannah passed away Friday, March 4th, 2016 at her home.

Betty was born in Ailey, Georgia on July 27th, 1935 to Harvy Edward and Nora Huett Smith. She was a member of Radiant Life Christian Fellowship.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Thompson, seven brothers and sisters, and two great-granddaughters, Haleigh Warren & Amber Wallace, she is survived by seven children; Tammy Conrad (Eric) of Eagle, Idaho, Charles Thompson, Jr. (Susan) of Guyton, Cindy Marie Brunson (Jimmy) of Port Wentworth, Charles Fox (Cheryl) of Savannah, James Fox(Susie) and John Fox (Lori) both of Chicago, Illinois, and Margie Warren (Edward) of Savannah; a brother, J.W. Smith of Guyton; four sisters, Rachel Carter of Savannah, Gloria Phillips of Savannah, Esther Malphus of Guyton, and Mary Hendrix of Port Wentworth; twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 8th, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Radiant Life Christian Fellowship, 5619 Skidaway Road, Savannah, with Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M.in the Church Sanctuary, the Reverends David Stanton and Buddy Cribb officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park – East in Savannah.
