Betty Juanita Hortman Howell, 63, of Savannah, passed way on September 22, 2016 at home with her family In Savannah,GA after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Nita, as she was known by her family and friends was a loving wife, mother, nanny and “super” nanny. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jimmy Howell, in 2001.
She is survived by her loving daughters Missy Bird (John), Cissy Merritt (Wesley), Daughter in-law Lori Hart (Tim), grandchildren Devan Bird (Beth), Ashley Kiernan (Jason), Melinda Poole, Dylan Raffield, Shannon Merritt, Brandon Merritt, and Michael Bird, as well as 6 great-grandchildren, Sisters Dianne Dykes (Denny), Kathy Walls, Brothers Willie Shupe (Michelle) and Charles Shupe as well as her long time best friend Marylou Wolfe.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

I pray that the love from your family and friends can help you to cope during this difficult period. Know also that our loving Creator promises us that there will soon be a time when these moments will no longer exist.
