Carolyn Gail Lucas, 83, passed away November 20, 2023, at Hospice Savannah. She was born in Savannah, GA on Christmas Day in 1939. What a glorious day to enter this world!
She retired from Gould Elementary School where she worked for many years as a Media Clerk. Gail loved spending time with her family and her sweetheart, George Bird. Her other favorite past times were dancing, watching Heartland (multiple times) & ordering from QVC. She was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Grace Owen; her husband, Donald Lucas; & son, Lee Lucas. She is survived by her loving sweetheart, George Bird, 2 daughters, Donna Riner (David) & Carol Ann Lucas (Ralph Gargiulo); a granddaughter Shannon Dotti; 2 great-grandsons, Giovanni & Dominick Vasquez; & many nieces & nephews. A Memorial Service to honor her will be held Saturday December 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Silk Hope Baptist Church. 4929 Pineland Drive Savannah, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Memorial Service will be held at Silk Hope Baptist Church on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 2:00 PM.

RIP Gail🙏. We had the pleasure of meeting Gail a few years ago while visiting George Bird in Savannah Georgia. What a wonderful lady. Our condolences go out to George, Bird and Gail’s family. May she rest in peace.
