Cathy Bristow Mendelsohn passed away peacefully at her home on January 8, 2021 while surrounded by family members.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Mendelsohn; daughter, Diane Kirby (Robert Collini, Jr); Son, Jimmy Kirby, Sr (Edith Ellen Kirby); grandchildren, Caitln Kirby, Samantha Kirby, Jimmy Kirby Jr, Karissa Collini; mother, Evelyn Bristow; brothers, Larry Bristow (Sue), Charles Bristow; Sister Jan Bristow (Mike Wright); nephews, Dustin Prince, Branden Prince.
Cathy was a Savannah native born July 20, 1953. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (Wilmington Island). Cathy enjoyed books, being on the computer, and spending time with her grandchildren. Cathy was a 1971 graduate of Sol C. Johnson High School. She spent most of her career working at Chatham County Developmental Services.
Families First Funeral Care is taking care of arrangements. Due to Covid -19 there will be no visitation or services. Family will have a private memorial later in the year. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the family to help with expenses.
