Charles David Carbis, known as Chuck to all, passed on November 12, 2023, at the age of 66 after fighting a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He had his loving fiancée, Kerri Higgins, and his son Kyle Carbis by his side.

Chuck was born on December 5, 1956, to Fred and Angela Carbis in Santa Clara, California. As a young boy, Chuck’s greatest love was baseball. He was very talented and lucky enough to have the experience of playing in the Little League World Series in 1969, in which they took 2nd place. He pitched the entire last game against China and they nearly won. He continued his baseball career as a pitcher for the Minnesota Twins organization.

Once he retired from baseball, Chuck was a butcher for 25 years. He always knew how to pick out a good cut of beef and carve a perfect turkey. Chuck still fostered his love for baseball by helping coach his son’s baseball teams. He continued to live out his love for sports and music by taking on a part-time job at the SAP Center. This allowed Chuck and his son to go to many games together and bond over their love for the San Jose Sharks. He then went on to be the General Manager for several car companies throughout northern California and the Bay Area until he retired in 2021.

In addition to sports and music, Chuck loved to visit new places. His favorite way to adventure was on his Harley. Many rides were taken through the beautiful canyons and out to the beach, Monterey Bay being one of his favorite destinations. He also loved spending time with family and friends and walking his dogs, Lucy and Belle. Chuck was loved by many.

Currently, there are no plans for a service. Chuck always loved animals and had many dogs throughout his life. Any donations in Chuck’s memory can be sent to your local SPCA or Humane Society.

Chuck became part of our family shortly after we met him. He was caring and fun to be around. He loved Kerry and their fur babies beyond words. Always great conversations. He will truly be missed but his memory is forever.

Although I only met Chuck 4 years ago I immediately liked him and felt comfortable with him. He was a great conversationalist and friendly to all. I will miss that big smile and laugh, and his zeal for life. My heart goes out to Kerri and his son.
