Dennis Lanier, 76, born on 10/9/1947, passed away on Tuesday, February 13,2024.
Dennis was the first born child of Denver Lanier and Lucille Hodges Lanier. He was born in Statesboro, Ga. but lived most of his life in Savannah, Ga.
Dennis was a 1967 graduate of Hershel V Jenkins High School. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in Viet Nam. He had a love for cars and first worked as a Volkswagen salesman for Terry Motors in Savannah. He moved to College Park, Ga and worked for Squire Insurance Co. He pursued and acquired his auto insurance license and started Autobahn Insurance Adjusters while in College Park.
He returned to Savannah and worked with Fuller Oldsmobile as Service Manager before co-owning PDA Insurance Adjusters.
Dennis was predeceased by his wife of 28 years, Mary Ann Strock Lanier. He was also predeceased by his parents and younger brother, William A. (Bill) Lanier. He is survived by his Stepson Tom Baur (Tonya) of South Bend, Ind. and four grandchildren, Kaley Baur, Braden Baur, Brian Baur and Sophia Baur; all of South Bend, Ind. Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Irma Lanier Larrimore of Sav, Ga. , Kay Lanier Grandgeorge (David) of Orangeburg, SC and Robert A. (Bob) Lanier (Rhonda) of Sav. Ga. , and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and his forever friend, Richard Sturgess.
A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 1 PM at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Today, Richard alerted me that Dennis passed away. Michael and I were just talking about him a few weeks ago. We are so sorry to hear the news. We will miss him and think of him often. He was a very special man and he meant a lot to us. Our prayers and love go out to all who knew him like we did.
