Life Journey of Hagard Lee Generette
Mr. Hagard Lee Generette, son of the late Paul Edgar and Deser Lee Doctor Generette was born on
Aug. 19, 1940, in Walterboro, South Carolina. He peacefully transitioned from this life on earth on
February 21, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Ga. with his wife by his side, speaking the sweet
words of, “Precious, precious, precious, precious.”
At an early age, Hagard Lee joined Cypress Creek Christian Church. He was educated in the public schools
of Colleton County and would often speak of how far they had to walk to attend school. Hagard Lee
graduated from Colleton High School where he played football and bragged about his senior year when
they won the championship game. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army and was
honorably discharged after serving one term. He would later study his passion for photography and became
a professional photographer.
Hagard Lee was a dedicated, hard worker for several trucking companies. He held several supervisor
positions and finally chose being on the road as a commercial truck driver for his career before retirement.
Over the years through his work connections, he met and have remained friends with many who have
always called upon him.
On February 27, 1999, Lee married his wife Sharon, whom he Lovingly Nicknamed “Bertha”, and they
became a blended family of six. It didn’t take long before they began to enjoy their passion for traveling
together throughout 17 states, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Columbia, The Bahamas and Thailand. They
were introduced to the RV world by a church member and went on several weekend outings. In 2020,
when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, his travels were greatly limited, and his health soon began to decline.
“Ha-ga-Lee” as his family called him, and “Mr. Lee” to friends, was a mighty talker. He had words of
wisdom for anyone who would hold a conversation. He would speak his mind, or as he would say “have a
discussion” with anyone young or old.
“Hagard Lee was preceded in death by his parents, a baby son named Ameer; brothers, Harry, Joe, Chris,
and Dan Generette; and sisters, Irma Jane Hayes and Anne Hooper.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Anthony Bernard Generette (Gabriella), Miriam Denise
Jackson (Karya), Sakinah L. Generette, and their mother, Yvonne Bryant; bonus children, Marcus, whom
he raised from the age of 12, Tyrone, and Mrs. Unece Martin; Grandchildren, Ameer Generette, Lauren
Jackson, Isabella Generette; his siblings, Gene Lester Generette (Dorothy), Mannie Generette, Marlene
Ladson, Barbara Generette, and Sylvia Generette. Along with special family friends, the Danis family,
and Travis and Josetta Gordon, who were always a phone call away whenever we needed them, he leaves
a host of bonus grands and great-grands, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A service will be held on March 11, 2023 at 11:00am in the Rothwell Baptist Church, 216 Rothwell St. Pooler, GA 31322 officiated by Pastor Micah Ellington.

Condolences for the family of “Hagard Lee Generette”
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Hagard. Although we never met, we were family (he was cousins with my father) and spoke often via Facebook and IG. I would love to meet the rest of the family at some point. My dad, William Generett, was born in Denmark in 1942, but passed away in 1996. Wishing you love and comfort during this period of grief. He and his messages to me will be missed ♥️

It is a pleasure to have known my friend, Lee Generette. Whenever we would have a conversation, it would always end with me having more wisdom and knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed communicating with Lee. I know that he is in a better place sharing that wisdom. I know now that I can still call on him in the spiritual realm for wisdom and power. Rest in peace Lee. I celebrate your life. Peace and blessings.
We send our sincere condolences to Aunt Sharon and the Generette family. We pray that God will continue to lead you and guide you all through this tough life we share here on the earth, knowing that there is a much better place waiting for us when we leave here, a place not made by human hands but the very hands of God. Hold onto the memories that God bless you all to share with Uncle Lee because they will comfort you when your hearts are heavy and the tears start to fall from a great lost to the family. We Love you Dearly and will continue to keep you in our prayers.

Oh how I’m so sorry! I loved Mr. Lee and had wonderful talks with the both of you. You were part of my life when I was having my little family. My kids stayed connected to you guys through the years, I’m so grateful Glenn was able to bring them to visit from time to time. I enjoyed the both of you and im sorry for your loss. There was Never a conversation without Uncle Lee Mentioning Me Cooking. He Enjoyed whatever I cooked and I enjoyed Listening to him talk about it . Uncle Lee will be Missed But Never Forgotten. God Bless his Wife and her Strength,and His Family you all are in my Sincere prayers
My dear sweet friend…I am so very sad 😢 to hear of Lee’s passing !!! I also remember from the day that I met you, I was reminded that fairytale love stories do exist! You were married to your very best friend and the two of you created memories that you will cherish forever ! My heart is sad for you, the price we pay for loving someone so deeply is the pain we suffer from losing our life partner, but also find comfort in knowing you will be together again one day for eternity ❤️ I love you Sharon !!! I remember growing up I use to be scared of him (don’t ask why), i truly believe it was bc of his sterness!! He was a gentleman but extremely stern (in a good way)! If “i said what i said” was a person it’ll def be uncle Hagard Lee☺️…..now as an adult I understand & appreciate EVERYTHING he was scolding me about when I was a kid! He will be missed dearly!
