He loved German Shepherd dogs and had several over the years, leaving behind Bella and Pilka, his beloved shepherds.

He had two daughters, Sherri Lea and Alison Anna, both of whom he was very proud. In 2017, he moved to Savannah, Georgia with his fiance, Colleen White where he continued to work in his mastered trade of HVAC controls, work on and ride his Harley Davidsons, and play fetch with his GSD’s.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Gerepka and Alice Kaczmar Gerepka, and Sister Natalie Gerepka Megules.

Due to Covid, there will be no service or visitation, but there will be a memorial in 2021 to honor his memory, place and time to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the German Shepherd Rescue and Adoption of North Carolina. (https://www.gsdrescue.org/)

Condolence from Charles Megules on November 29th, 2020 12:20 pm

My Uncle Jimmy had a generous heart. I would visit him at his home in Ewing while student at Trenton State College, and stayed with him on two occasions in NC, once when I had an audition in Charlotte and later for a performance in Raleigh. He took me out, and fed me the best steaks and stuffed cabbage. He was kind and treated his guests like they were the only person in the world. We’d talk on the phone from time to time for hours, and I wish I called him many more times. Jimmy will be missed.
All my heart felt condolences go out to Sherri, Allison, Colleen, and Donna. Love you Jim!

Condolence from Sherri on February 3rd, 2021 10:00 am

Thanks, Charles! He always had such a great time when he was visiting with you. I remember him telling me how happy he was to have your company and enjoy big fat steaks together! It’s been many years, but I remember having such a great time at your wedding. Hope to see you sometime soon, when it’s safe to do so. Love and miss you! <3 Sherri

Condolence from Steve McHenry on December 14th, 2020 8:22 pm

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Jim in Raleigh as a technician at Siemens. Jim taught me a lot about the trade, and I will always be grateful for that. Jim seemed to be rough around the edges, but I learned he was a man with a good heart. While working on a jobsite together, I let him know I was expecting my third child in the coming months. I didn’t think much about sharing that with him, but he shocked me the next day. Jim called me over to his truck and pulled out a beautiful potted flower. He said he wanted my wife to have it and plant it in the garden. That way, each year when it bloomed, we would always have a reminder of the birth of our son. Every so often I think of Jim and am reminder of his rough style, but a man with a heart of gold. Thanks Jim, you will be missed. I lost my own father this year. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.

Condolence from Marcia and Dennis Blicharz on December 21st, 2020 3:35 pm

I just now December 21, found out that Jimmy passed.
Im sooo sorry and shocked, you have my deepest sympathy. So sad.
Jimmy was a very good guy and he used to stop over my house in Ewing to see
my father and work on cars. Those were the good old days.
I didn’t know that Jimmy’s middle name was the same as my father’s (Bert).
Please keep me posted on the memorial service.
Take care and stay safe.
