 OUR “PAPA”

On Thursday, October 17, 2013, Leroy (Papa) White, entered into eternal
rest. Leroy, 75, of Savannah, Georgia was born on March 01, 1938, the
oldest and only son born to James and Dora Mae White.
 
Leroy accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at a young age and was baptized at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia.
Leroy, was very well liked and loved by everyone who came into his presence. He was lovable, funny, and stern. He was a big Grizzly Bear. Force-full, direct, big and hard but yet had a loving heart of gold.
 
Leroy was educated in the Chatham County public school system and was a graduate of Alfred Ely Beach High School, a true Bulldog. After graduating Leroy enlisted into the US Army to fight for the Country he truly loved.
Leroy entered in to Holy Matrimony to Diann Smith, December 23, 1965 in Savannah, GA. Their union together begat 6 children. They later relocated to Jacksonville, FL in 1975. He later joined Summerville Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James W. Henry.
 
Preceding Leroy in death, his parents James and Dora Mae White of Savannah, Georgia and his son Joseph L Brannen.
He leaves to mourn: His Soul Mate and Best friend Diann Smith-White, of Jacksonville, Florida: One Sister Betty (Rev.Cecil )White-Wilson of Bristol, Florida; Brotherin-law Alvin (Joyce) Smith of Savannah, Georgia; One Aunt Lillie Mae Allen of Savannah, Georgia; Five daughters: Cynthia Brannen McKinney, Alexine Smith of Savannah, Georgia; Jacquline Smith, Yolanda (David) White-Mapp, Sabrina (Steve) White-Williams of Jacksonville, Florida; One nephew John (Ayda) Howard, III of Long Beach, California; Daughter-in-law Janice Brannen of Savannah, Georgia; 20 Grand-Children, 35 Great-grandchildren a host of cousins, family and friends.
