Gillespie died December 27, 2023, peacefully, in the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. She was born on December 11, 1934, to Ruby (Meyers) and Clinton “Red” Richardson, and raised in Savannah, Georgia.

She worked at Savannah Bank for nearly 17 years, and then as a real estate agent for Moore Homes for nearly 10 years before her retirement. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Forrest “Bud” Gillespie, and brother Billy Richardson (Andrea).

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Gillespie and son, Michael Gillespie, beloved grandchildren, Shae, Justin, and Taylor, and brother Danny Richardson (Malinda).
