Marylee Burgess was born March 16, 1938, in Savannah, Georgia to Colen Sharpe and Mrs. Lottie Sharpe. Marylee entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Marylee attended Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools where she was a graduate of ___ High School in class of ___. Marylee was also a member of the usher board at Christ Memorial Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord. Marylee Loved being around family, listening to music, and cooking.
Marylee was preceded in death by both parents; Colen and Lottie Sharpe, her husband; James Burgess, her daughter; Gwendolyn Edwards, her grandson; Antonio Lark, and her daughter-in-law; Michelle Howsia.
Marylee leaves to cherish precious memories; her son Kenneth Howsia Sr. (Michelle Howsia); her sister Rubylee Hendley (Albert Hendley); grandchildren Matisha Browm-McKinney (Derrick McKinney), Kenneth Howsia Jr. (Tiara Howsia), Kareem Howsia (Brandi Howsia), Shadae Howsia, and Sharod Howsia; thirteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at Memorial Christ Church on Thursday, February 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM.

My Deepest Condolences to the Family. Mrs. Burgess has always treated me like a daughter and sowed so much wisdom in my life. I called her momma Burgess because from the first day of many years working at Oceanside/Savannah Beach Nursing Home she made sure I was okay. Momma Burgess was so loving and kind.
