Mildred Isabel Williams passed away peacefully March 25, 2024 at Bryan County Health and Rehab Center. She was born on September 8, 1928, in Savannah, Georgia, at the Old Telfair Hospital to George and Elma Ulmer.

Mildred Isabel Williams was an 8th-generation Savannahian. She was also very proud of her Georgia Salzburger roots and had ancestors around Savannah like General Screven ( Fort Screven) and James Pierpont (Jingle Bells).

Mildred Isabel Williams attended Savannah High School and was a devout Christian. She attended Bible Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed being a choir member. ( She particularly loved the choir’s songs during the Easter Season). She also loved entertaining around Savannah with the Classic Club, in area nursing homes and out and about. She placed first in the talent category at the Mrs. Senior Georgia pageant in 1999. She loved singing it was truly her passion and she was good at it. She also excelled in sales at Furchgotts in Jacksonville, Florida, Burrlington Coat Factor, and Fines Department Store in Savannah.

Mildred Isabel Williams is preceded in death by the love of her life her late husband William D. Williams (Bill), father George A. Ulmer Sr., her mother Elma Abbott –Dasher, her oldest daughter Mary Elizabeth Hartnett (Beth), grandson Michael Troncin, brother George A Ulmer Jr., and sister Pauline Ulmer-Evans.

She is survived by daughters Vickie McGraw-Groves of Richmond Hill, GA., Sandi McGraw-Correia (Arnaldo) of Hollywood FL, and Ellen McGraw of Bonaire, Caribbean, Netherlands, and son Michael McGraw (Liezel) of Poinciana, Fl.; Ten Grandchildren, Michelle Troncin (Kenny), Mark Groves, Matthew Arthurs (Sarah), Phillip Correia (Tiffany), Adam Groves (Becky), Megan Valentine (Garrett), Sarah McGraw, Michael Brown ( Bailey), Brittany Bernardez (Bryan), and Michael McGraw II; Great Grandmother to nine and a Great Great Grandmother to three.

She left us with the legacy of a woman who lived her life on her terms and a self-awareness of her place in this world. We will miss that in our lives. She was the last of the true Southern Belles.

The interment service will be held at  the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on March 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
