Obdulia “Lula” Roman Rodriguez

Obdulia “Lula” Roman Rodriguez, age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at PruittHealth – Seaside with her family by her side.

Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Arcelio Roman and Antonia Rodriguez. She and was an actress in her early 20’s and loved acting. Her acting skills followed her all of her life, her overdramatization of things led to “I’m dying” becoming a running joke with her family. She loved her church and enjoyed reading poems during service. She spoke what was on her mind. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, Erica and Wendy were her pride and joy. She loved many people and was loved by many. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by, her parents, two sons, Edgardo LaSalle, Dennis LaSalle, her sisters, Ana Lidia and Ana Louisa.

Surviving are her son, Antonio Correa, her daughters, Wendy Santiago (Andrew Salvat), Erica Rios Valladares (Rolando Rios), fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Angel Enrique Roman, Arcelio Roman, a sister, Ramonita Roman and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, 2020, from 4 pm to 5 pm at Eastside Church of the Nazarene, 1939 Capital St, Savannah, GA 31404. Funeral Service will follow at 5 pm at church.

Obdulia “Lula” Roman Rodriguez, de 86 años, falleció el martes 28 de enero de 2020 en PruittHealth – Seaside con su familia a su lado.

Nacida en Arecibo, Puerto Rico, era hija de Arcelio Román y Antonia Rodríguez. Ella era una actriz de unos 20 años y le encantaba actuar. Sus habilidades de actuación la siguieron toda su vida, su dramatización excesiva causo a que el dicho “me estoy muriendo” se convirtiera en una broma con su familia. Amaba a su iglesia y disfrutaba leer poemas durante el servicio. Ella habló lo que tenía en mente. Era una madre devota y abuela, Erica y Wendy eran su orgullo y alegría. Ella amaba a muchas personas y era amada por muchos. La vamos a extrañar mucho.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, dos hijos, Edgardo LaSalle, Dennis LaSalle, sus hermanas, Ana Lidia y Ana Louisa.

Sobreviven su hijo, Antonio Correa, sus hijas, Wendy Santiago (Andrew Salvat), Erica Rios Valladares (Rolando Rios), catorce nietos, quince bisnietos, tres bisnietos, dos hermanos, Angel Enrique Roman, Arcelio Roman, una hermana, Ramonita Roman y una serie de sobrinas, sobrinos y otros familiares y amigos.

La familia recibirá amigos el sábado 1 de febrero de 2020 de 4 pm a 5 pm en la Iglesia del Nazareno Eastside, 1939 Capital St, Savannah, GA 31404. El funeral se llevará a cabo a las 5 pm en la iglesia.
