Richard Joesph (Jody) Terry Jr.  06/10/1959-04/26/2024 64 of Bloomingdale Ga passed away after a long illness at Abercorn Rehabilitation of Savannah.

Jody was born in Savannah to the late Margaret Elizabeth Bowen Terry and Richard Joesph Terry Sr.

Jody was preceded in death by his beloved sister affectionately known as Kitten .

Jody was a character! He was loved by all who knew him , he was funny and caring . Although Jody didn’t have much, he would do anything he could for you .He worked hard all his life starting at a young age working for his uncle on his Shrimp Boat. At age 18 he started working as a Welder and there he found his passion. He loved to tell stories about the old working days and the good times on Montgomery and Ossabaw Island and the friends he made along the way. He kept you laughing with the stories he would tell. Jody loved the river and fishing with his brother David . He loved carpentry and making things with his hands. Jody loved animals especially his last companion T-bone his Black Lab that passed away a week before. They are together in heaven and will be missed by so many that loved them. He was a good friend.

Jody is survived by his brother David Terry of Savannah, his special friend Janet OHara and Billy and Angie Burns and family who are longtime friend/family.

A private memorial is planned for a later date.

A special thanks to GHC of Savannah ( Georgia Hospice Care) for taking care of him in his final days.

A special donation can be made in honor of T-bone to National Spay and Alliance Savannah 11 Gateway Blvd Savannah, Ga 31419.

I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Jody. He was truly one of the funniest and most sincere individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was a brother-in-law who will always hold a special place in my heart.
Please know that my thoughts are with you and everyone who was close to Jody during this difficult time. I am sure he will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many. My heart goes out to David as well, as I can only image the deep sorrow, he must be experiencing at this time.

Sincerely,
Melinda

Jody and I were neighbors a few years before he & David became family to me and my son who loved & looked up to him. We would butt heads but at the end of the day he was part of the package I signed up for with David& I loved him too.The bond they had was like none I’ve never seen. You left a heartbroken little brother that will never be the same but I promise I will make sure he’s ok.Rest easy Jody, you will be missed, Tina Hobbs
