Ricky Callahan II, 38, of Long Beach California, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2023 surrounded by his family and close friends. His family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
Ricky is survived by his mother Carnelia Cole, father Ricky Callahan Sr; and children Ricki and Reign Callahan. Forever remembered by his siblings LaToya Jackson and LaTashia Grant. He is also loved and remembered by his nephews Kevin Deal II, Daijon Weaver, Bobby Cumby III and niece Kennedy Grant; uncles, aunts and cousins as well as a host of life time friends and loved ones. Ricky was predeceased by his grandparents Armon and Juanita Cole and Henry Joseph Callahan.
Ricky was born at Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California in 1984, which is also where he grew up. He later relocated to Savannah Georgia to be closer to his mother and sisters. He resided in Savannah until his untimely passing.
Ricky was a charming, fun spirited old soul who took on many passions. One of which included his deep love for the LA Lakers and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed listening to classic R&B, West Coast Hip Hop and was a movie connoisseur. His ultimate joy in his life was being a doting father to his daughters. He was obsessed with them, and they are equally obsessed with him. His favorite thing was walking into a room and seeing both of his girls running toward him with open arms to embrace him. No matter if he was gone for a few days or just a few minutes. Ricky found comfort and peace in the quality time he spent with his family and close friends. He has been the focal point of so many memories filled with dinners, game nights, holidays, etc. Ricky was a beautiful person inside and out. His charisma would captivate the whole room. He cared so deeply for the people around him. He made an impact on many lives. Ricky will be forever missed.

So sorry to hear of Rickys passing. I worked with him for many years. He will be missed by many, he was a joy to be around . My prayers are with all the Family.
Last text you sent me was to check on me. Last text I sent you is that I loved you brother. I dont want to believe this. If you were here you’d probably tell me to stop being a little girl right now. I’ve been searching the internet to see if this was real and now I don’t know how to feel after seeing this. Tree brothers forever. I love you. You were always the one to take me out of my emotional slumps. I’m gonna continue to listen to that Michael McDonald for you and listen to the west coast music you heavily introduced me to unitl we meet again. My condolences are deeply from my heart. You showed me a lot about being a man. Never had a guy that really treated me like a real brother. I dont know man. Things not gonna be the same for me or anyone that was in your circle. Your one of the best men I’ve ever had the honor of having in my life. Love you brother. Man we been through some stuff. I’ll take everything you’ve taught me and press forward with because your voice is always in my head when making small of life decisions. You were and still a good man. As you would say, ” I caught you stumbling and bumbling”. I’ll try my best not to as I move forward with my life without you because you said I shouldn’t be. It’s all love and forever will be.

This really hurt’s but grams needed you more. We will miss you heavy. West side the best side untill we meet again.
Condolences to the cole family. Ricky will truly be missed. He was a well respected young man he loved his family and real friends. I will continue to pray for your family.
My heart is sad and there’s no word’s to express how I feel I have been a part of the coles family for a lot of years I’ve known Ricky almost all his life he was a sweet guy a good young man we don’t understand God‘s time and only he do may God continue to hold you up and give you the strength that only he can to the girls you know I love you guys may God continue to hold you guys up if there’s anything I can do you know how to contact me what more can I say to God be the glory hold on to his unchanging hand love baba

Words cannot express just how sorry I am about losing someone so special and kind. I love your family and how close you all are. Although not in the physical, I know he’s still with you, still watching over you, and still protecting you. You are always in my prayers.

Remembering the great times we had growing up in Long Beach and playing out back at your grandma Ms. Coles house and Kings Park, playing video games, going to the dairy and getting into a little mischief…lol.
