Sue was from New York, so it took her some time to get used to our southern ways. Especially the Low country boil when we threw the food on top of newspaper spread across a picnic table. But she came to love it here. And she was the best thing that ever happened to my Dad. They had many wonderful years together until Ihe passed. I was proud to call her my stepmother. She will be greatly missed.

My dear friend, you are sorely missed and will forever be in the hearts of so many. You were grandma to generations and touched so many lives with your love, smile, laughter, grace and strength. My condolences to the Carver, Elmgrin, Rodgers and Collins families, to all those who loved you and you loved. I will miss you and our talks. Will never forget you but at the same time I’m so happy for you are finally reunited with the love of your life. Surely Papa Dave is glad to have you with him again. We will meet again one day beautiful lady.

My condolences for all of the family, Sue was a great lady and much respected, even more loved. You will be missed and I hope you and Papa Dave are together again. Love like that is forever. You always had love and a smile for us, and no matter the distance or hardships, would always make the time to be there for your family. Heaven is lucky to have such an angel. Love you and you will be always in our hearts.

Sue was a wonderful woman. We were both damn Yankees from up north but both found our wonderful lives in southern men. She was married to Papa Dave my father in law, she made the last years of his life wonderful. I hate that she is gone but I am peace to know she’s back with her love Dave. May she rest in peace and know she was always loved by all of us. My children, my husband and myself will always miss her. May she Rest in peace

I only knew Sue for about 5 Years. She was my neighbor when I moved to Savannah. But we hit it off like we had always been friends. She was always there when I needed help. I’m happy I got to spend what time I did with her. I will truly miss you sue.

Condolence from April Rodgers on June 27th, 2023 8:09 pm

“Grandma Sue”, that is how you were introduced to me by the love of my life, your grandson, “Joey.” From the first day I met you, you were family. You filled up everyone’s heart with pure happiness with your soft tone and way with words. I will cherish our phone calls and the conversations we had during our short visits. Our children will never forget each time we would visit how you would spoil them with ice cream sandwiches and movies. Oh! How could I forget the laughing baby you had the children loving during our last visit? We laughed till our tummies hurt. We as humans take for granted the time we have with the ones we love and perhaps take their love for granted as well.
Grandma Sue, you knew how to cherish what you had with the time you were given with the ones you loved. We will miss you and always think of you. I never met Papa Dave, but I have heard many things of him along with your memories you shared. May you finally be a peace with the love of your life.
