Timothy Dwight Strickland, 65, of Savannah, Georgia died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family members on April 24, 2016.

Dwight was born on November 22, 1950 in Shelby, NC. He is the third of six children of Ruby Neal and Woodrow Strickland.

Dwight had a degree in civil engineering and was a licensed land surveyor for 39 years. He surveyed in NC, SC, FL and GA with his last position as the City Surveyor for Savannah. Dwight enjoyed being outdoors, music, reading, teaching, drawing and cooking.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Drennan C. Strickland and daughter Stevette Broughton, sister Pat McGinnis and brother Randy Strickland, granddaughter Lauryn Jacobs and grandsons Ray Strickland and AJ Strickland, great-granddaughters Jaid Morris and Delilah Strickland and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Woodrow Strickland, Jr and Philip Strickland, sister Connie Strickland and sons Jeff Strickland and Eric Strickland.

A private service was held at Families First Funeral Care on April 25, 2016. The family would like to thank Hospice of Savannah and the City of Savannah for their acts of kindness, support and words of encouragement.
