William Major Barfield

Our dear brother William (Bill) Major Barfield departed this world and its trials and tribulations on April 4^th to reside in heaven with our Lord and to be reunited with his beloved wife.

Bill was born in Louisville, Ga. on May 11^th, 1954, to George William Barfield and Frankie Johnson Barfield.  He lived most of his young years in Liberty County.  After high school he served in the United States Navy.  He then returned home to Liberty County and began his career as a master appliance repairman.

In 1982 Bill met and married the love of his life Linda Johnson and joyfully acquired a son (Robert) in the bargain.  They lived their life together in Long County until just 2 months ago when Linda passed away taking Bill’s heart with her.

Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was always ready and willing to help a friend in need.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents George and Frankie Barfield, his siter Jenny Barfield Minchey, his nephew Jerod Kyle Brown, his brothers in law Ted Brown, Doug Hansen, and Jon Johnson, and his loving wife of 41 years Linda Johnson Barfield.

Bill leaves behind to remember him his sisters Kathie (Dennis) Duke, and Cindy Brown, his brothers Bob (Robin) Barfield and John Barfield. Several nieces and nephews and his son Robert (Krystal) Stanley and his treasured grandchildren Scott, Katelynn, Allyssa, and Morgan.
