SFC Redell Christopher Jones (Retired)

SFC Redell Christopher Jones (retired) also known as “Jay” was born in Lancaster, SC on September 20, 1963, to the late Sylvia Ann Jones.

Redell was united in holy matrimony to Martha Gladys Stanback on March 3, 1992.

Redell enlisted in the army on August 3, 1982. He served as a 13 Bravo (Field Artillery Crew Member)

His awards and decorations consists of: Bronze Service Star; Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal ( each services with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters); Army Good Conduct Medal (awarded 8); Army Service Ribbon; Iraqi Campaign Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Overseas Ribbon( awarded 3); Southwest Asia Medal; Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Master Gunner Identification Badge; Basic Instructor Badge; NCO Professional Medal ( awarded 3).

He served faithfully during his time of service until he retired on August 31, 2006. Upon his retirement from the United States Army, he worked diligently as a Senior Training Instructor with the Saudi Arabian National Army from 2006 until 2021 which totalled 39 years of dedicated service.

SFC Retired Redell Christopher Jones will forever be cherished by his loving wife Marth Jones, his children (Leah, Jillian, Rodney, Redell JR, Xavier, and Layla), his siblings Monique Jones, the late Mona Lisa Jones, Sylvia Jones, and a host of grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Families First Funeral Care. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park, West.

Jones was a very good friend and a fellow Vinnell Trainer in Riyadh for 10 years. He was such a blessing to us. His leadership was excellent, always lead by example.

He was a dedicated family man, husband, father, and fellow soldier who I will miss. Redell and I were basketball teammates in Lancaster SC. Rest In Heavenly Peace classmate and teammate and know I shall forever have fond memories of you and the many laughs we shared.
