Bessie LuJeanne Waters, age 82, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday March 11, 2016 at St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
She was born to Shelton and Amelia Dell Mobley on August 7, 1933. Devoted wife of the late Tracy Eugene Waters, Sr. Preceded by her brother Shelton Mobley and her sister Cherie Mobley Thompson.
Survived by her children Tracy Eugene Waters Jr. (Gianna), Lawrence Kelly Waters Ph.D., and Teresa LuAnn Maines. Beloved and doting grandmother of Misty Waters Petak M.S. (Rod), Justin David Maines J.D. (Prina), Hope Waters Lam (Gavin), Bryan Jesse Waters M.A., Tiffany Maines Lance M.D. (Greg), Miranda Jean Waters J.D., and Brittany Leigh Heurter M.S. (Chad), and her first great grandchild on the way, Liam Charles Lam.
Called Grandma by her grandchildren and LuJeanne by her friends and siblings, she will be remembered for her contagious laughter that filled the room and brought smiles to everyone. She was so immensely proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved gardening, bird watching, reading her Bible, mystery television, Star Trek, and humbling her grandchildren at video games. She was a beautiful southern belle who worked hard inside and outside the home to provide for her family. Her keen intellect and grace will be sorely missed by everyone.
Family and the public are encouraged to attend Funeral Services with viewing and visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 14th, 2016, at First Free Will Baptist Church located at 5210 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA. The funeral service will begin at 1 P.M. at the church with burial to follow thereafter beginning at 2:30 pm in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery located at 1336 Dean Forest Road, Savannah, GA.
