Charles David Bergman (Chuckie), formerly of West Newton, PA, passed peacefully on February 26th, 2024 in Savannah, GA at the age of 71 surrounded with steadfast love from his wife and his daughter. He was born on November 19th, 1952 in McKeesport, PA.
He was a loving, devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a disabled veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Chuckie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. In his adult life, he was always present for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very kind and generous; “would give the shirt off his back” kind of guy. He enjoyed going to the horse track and playing games of chance. An avid football fan, Chuckie loved watching his favorite football team – the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E and Betty D (Waltonbaugh) Bergman; an infant brother, Todd E Bergman; nephew, Nicholas A Aitken; and great-grandson, Nelson D Jenks IV.
He is survived by his wife, Donna D (Lynn) Bergman; daughters, Jennifer Burfield (Bill) and Melissa Bergman; and step-son, Joseph Arnold. “Pappy” will forever be missed by his grandchildren William, Alexis, Brittany, Krysta, Breanna, Madelyn and Heather as well as by his great-grandchildren; Gracie, Lydia, Sage, Elias, Axel and a great-granddaughter due in June. Chuckie will forever be remembered by his siblings, Peggy D (John) Coffer; Linda E (Nick) Hulyk; Donna J Bergman; Tamara J (Bart) Aitken; John E (Ting) Bergman and Debra S (Jesse) Carse; and five nephews, four nieces, and many great and second great nephews and nieces.
A celebration of Chuckie’s life will be held on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Families First Care Chapel at 1328 Dean Forest Rd. Savannah, GA.
