
Charles “Chuck” Eugene Maskevich, 90, died at home on Monday, February 5,
2024. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on December 14, 1933.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jeanette, his son David,
and his brother Jerry.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 44 years Patricia Ann Davis, his children Derek
(Lisa), Mark, and Theresa Ryder (Robert), and his stepchildren Julie Dykes,
James Bradshaw, and Gary Bradshaw. His brothers Frank (Doris), Steve (Debra),
Jeff (Linda) and his sister Marcia Muller. Grandchildren Miranda, Tony, David,
Sarah, Megan, and Matthew. Also, many nieces and nephews, and great
grandchildren.
After high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps.
He learned his trade as a printer starting in the summers at his uncle’s print shop
in Chicago, and then continued it in the Marines. Printing was his lifelong trade.
Chuck’s hobbies included reading poetry, sports – especially baseball, and
photography.
Photography was a great joy to him. He won a few local prizes for some of
his pictures. He taught himself how to develop and print, matt and frame his
photos and how to digitally edit them.
His love of photography took him on many weekend expeditions and trips out in
nature to do landscape photography and other interesting subjects.
He lived a long and full life and will be dearly missed.
