Ellen T. Roberts was born September 27, 1943 in Madison, Florida to Estella B. Tyson and Eugene Tillman. At the age of five years old she moved to St. Petersburg, Florida with her family. While growing up in Florida, she attended the Pinellas County Public School System.
Ellen moved to Miami, Florida where she met George W. Roberts II and married him. From this union four children were born, Lenzy T. Tillman (Delores), Yolanda D. Roberts, Ellery B. Roberts Sr. (Onzetta), and Weldon L. Roberts Sr. (Takiyah).
In 1984 Ellen moved to Savannah, Georgia with her beautiful family. She became a member of St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church, where she would remain faithful and committed. Education was an important aspect of her life, so she decided to go back to school to further her education at Savannah Technical College.
Ellen enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed reading her Bible everyday and meeting people and telling them about the gospel. Above all she enjoyed and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 yrs. George W. Roberts II, twin sister Helen T. Marion, sister Lillie Mae Thomas-Lee, brother Donald C. Thomas, brother Herman N. Thomas, stepson Warren Roberts Sr., and grandson Thomas Morgan Jr.
She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories, children: Lenzy T. Tillman (Delores), Yolanda D. Roberts, Ellery B. Roberts Sr. (Onzetta), and Weldon L. Roberts Sr. (Takiyah); Stepchildren: George W. Roberts III (Lilly) and Terri Johnson; Siblings: Estella Reid, Juanita Mincey, Anna Mary Pursley, Willie Tillman, and Thomas James; Aunt, Mamie Soloman. A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
