Glenn Edward Bates finished his race and returned home to his Creator on November 20, 2022 after fifty-four years of service. He was born on July 1st, 1968 as the first child to Joe and Shirley Bates. He grew up in Florida, before enlisting in the army at eighteen and living overseas for several years. Glenn left the military and returned home after seven years of service where he returned to build a family and walk with Christ until his earthly departure.
He leaves behind a host of family: his parents (Joe and Shirley Bates), his wife (Antionette Bates), two sisters (Shelley Linder, Crystal Crawford), six children (Sabra Cacciatore, Devin Bates, Johnathan Bates, Gianna Koen, Phoebe Bates, Anna Bates), four grandchildren, and a family of fellow believers that stretches across the country. Glenn never hesitated to help whoever he could and embodied the most important instruction Jesus gave his disciples: “A new commandment I give you, that you love one another as I have loved you…By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday December 3, 2022 at Families First Funeral Care, 1328 Dean Forest Road Savannah, Georgia 31405.
