Marianne E. Kunnmann, 93, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home.
She was the youngest of three born on November 13, 1928, to Helene and Georg Andress in Berlin, Germany. She remained in Germany till coming to the USA in 1954 to join her late husband Herbert Kunnmann. She was mother to Michael and Andrea (Mark Fagan). Proud grandmother of Mallory VonWaldner (Kevin VonWaldner).
Marianne was loved by many people in Germany and America. She always remembered life events and was found typing letters on a typewriter (no computer) or sending personal cards to acknowledge them. She was always gardening, sewing crafts, doing yoga daily, riding her bike, and talking to her sister, Elsa Andress, in Germany every Sunday. She worked in a small dress-gift shop in Thunderbolt, GA, for many years called The Front Porch where she would also alter clothing for the customers giving that extra thoughtfulness to feel special.
As her nephew, Wolfgang Andress wrote, “Find comfort and peace in knowing that Marianne was loved by many people and will always have a place in our hearts. While life will end one day, our memories and thoughts will live through eternity.”
Private services for immediate family. Donations in her name can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Arrangements are entrusted to Families First Funeral Care of Savannah, GA.
