My Sweet Auntie, she felt more like a big sister to me, we were only 13 years apart. My mother was very strict and Mary always tried to get her to lighten up. She was fun , adventurous and laughed a lot. As a teenager I loved when she came to visit and brought a train case full of makeup that she’d let me try. I admired her so much in New Brunswick the times I saw her coming from work in her red lined nurses cape, that may have had some influence in my decision to become a nurse. She travelled which was not the norm for a farm girl from NB. I took a two day bus ride several times when I had a month off for holidays as a nursing student to go to Florida and stay with her. I have fond memories of when the sisters would reunite for Florida vacations and we would spend lots of time together.
Rest in peace dear Mary , you will remain in our hearts forever. ❤️
