Virginia MacKay Fields, 93, passed away on Wednesday, June 22 at Woodlands Rehab and Nursing Home after an extended illness.
She was born in Savannah, and lived most of her life there before retiring from Gulfstream. After retirement, she took more time to enjoy her favorite things, working in her beautiful flower beds, and going to the beach.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher MacKay and Elsie Schrader MacKay, her husband, Clarence Fields, an infant daughter, Carol Conaway, a daughter, Beverly Conaway, Lingle, a son, Irvin (Red) F. Conaway, son, Carlton E. Conaway, and a granddaughter, Dawn Cameron Askew.
She is survived by grandson, Charles (Skip) Sullenger, (wife Angie), of Savannah, granddaughter, Angela Leach, (husband Mike), of Birmingham, AL, granddaughter, Jan Smith, (husband Larry), of Blackshear, granddaughter, Denise Talk, of Richmond Hill, granddaughter, Jody Hicox, (husband Philip), of Fayetteville, Ga, grandson Brian Conaway, (wife Christine), of Savannah, and grandson Mike Conaway, Blackshear, 15 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a letter date.
